![]() My son harley who at the 12 scan was doing perfect very strong heartbeat and everything as it should have been. There were 2 sacs found one with a fetus heartbeat and the other was just an empty sac and we were told it would just dissolve on its own and at her 12 week scan it had. After some.talking a few weeks later at 8 weeks she went for an ultrasound as she also has some minor spotting. My partner shaunna from 5 weeks started to experience severe abdominal pain and she wouldnt go and checked out. The pregnancy of my girlfriend started out as normal. It is coming up to three months now since he was born and me and his mother have never been given a proper explanation as to why the pregnancy went so wrong. As ive posted before my little boy harley was born at 24 weeks and lived for 38 days and passed away. I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on my girlfriends situation as the nurses doctors and consultants couldnt. Just wondering if anyone has had any successful pregnancies since having this infection? If so, were you given any special care? How long were you advised to wait to try again? Any advice in general? Thank you. (I live in Japan, but will be returning to my home country New Zealand later this year). The Drs did not test my placenta, so they don't know how the infection started and have also said because the risk of this infection is low I would not be given any special care with any subsequent pregnancies. Our wee boy was delivered at 19+5, stillborn. The dr then recommended I be induced as our wee boy could develop no further and I was at risk of needing a hystorectomy or sepsis. This worked however in the morning my waters ruptured and there was none left by the afternoon. The doctor there diagnosed me as having chorioamnionitis and I was put on medicine to stop the contractions. Then at 19 weeks I went into labour and was taken to the ER. After some research now, I'm sure it was actually amniotic fluid. With this pregnancy I had a strange coloured smelling discharge (sorry tmi) at 18 weeks but was sent home from the hospital twice, Drs both saying it was blood and I was contracting so they wanted me on bed rest. ![]() This was my second pregnancy and I had no complications with my first, now 2 1/2 year old. Hello all, I just recently lost a son due to chorioamnionitis. Doctors have suggested giving him some steroids but he cant get them until the infection in his lungs have cleared. Me and his mum are very emotional and worried as no progress is being made with him. His lungs have collapsed a few times before he went onto the oscillator. He was then changed to the oscillator and has been.on this ever since. He was on the conventional ventilator for shortly over 3 weeks and he was doing ok and then just deteriorated and his stats dropped very low and just would not come up. We have been called to the hospital a few times as we were told he wouldnt make it. As his.mother had low amniotic fluid from 19 weeks and gave birth to him at 24 weeks he has chronic lung disease and isnt making any progress whatsoever apart from growing a bit. Currently he has been in the nicu for 33 days now and he has just gotten worse. ![]() Harley was born and showed signs of life so went straight to the nicu after doctors worked on him. He got them the day before he hit 24 weeks and his mother went into labour a few days later. ![]() We were told if our son held off until 24 weeks he would get steroids for his lungs. We were in and out of hospital for weeks as she was heavily bleeding all the time. From 19 weeks my partner shaunna had very low amniotic fluid surrounding him and we were always told he wouldnt make it. My son harley was born at exactly 24 weeks weighing 1 pound 3 ounces. I just want to share my story as I am so scared for my son.
